Friday afternoons at samsphotogallery.com, in association with my wife Rosy, is beer and blogging! Each week we write a blog post on topics such as camera tips, future plans, running a business, inspiration, green issues – anything that takes our fancy!
This morning I was up at 4am and headed down to Montgomery, a small Welsh town on the border with England. Montgomery has a lot of history. From iron age hill forts, roman villas, right through to the Norman’s and the castle that still stands there today. Offa’s Dyke even run’s right by it so it is a significant place for British history, including the English civil war.
I was there doing some landscape photography from the Offa’s Dyke path. I got there before sunrise and valley the bottom was filled with mist. The commission is private so I can’t share the photos right away, but hopefully soon there will be a low res sneak peak available!
As you can see from the above video, I took my trusty step ladder “Laddy” with me to get the shots…. I think he might be in the running for employee of the month!
This fridays beer is Hop House. Its lager, but it actually tastes of something.
Apparently there is also a comet in the sky this month. Sunday night looks clear so it may be time to do some astro photography! Stay tuned….
Rosy is an artist by the way. Annoyingly a very good one and also a good photographer! Check out her website! (she’s yelling at me as we speak saying there isn’t enough stuff on there, maybe subscribe to her blog for updates, and mine too for that matter!)
