Norway Day 5 – Hiking the Besseggen Ridge Trail

This was by far the best hike I did during my short time in Norway. The Besseggen Ridge lies well far into the interior of the country, possibly why we had great weather on our hike! The hike is 14km long between Gjendesheim and Memurubu. You can hike the ridge first and get the ferryContinue reading “Norway Day 5 – Hiking the Besseggen Ridge Trail”

Norway Day 4 – Reinheimen National Park

Following our previous night sleep wild camping in the mountain pass, we packed up the tent and drove down what seemed like an endless valley. We passed several lakes and stopped off in Reinheimen National Park at Billingen Seterpensjonat, which was a small restaurant next to some spectacular waterfalls. We ordered the house speciality whichContinue reading “Norway Day 4 – Reinheimen National Park”

Puffin’s on Handa island, Scotland.

A wee snippet of our recent trip to Scotland to do the North Coast 500! These puffin’s were on Handa island near Scourie. Hilarious little birds to watch bobbing around and dipping down to the sea to catch fish to being back to the nest.

Norway Day 3 – Geiranger Fjord

We took the morning ferry Valdall to Eidsdal on the southern shore. Even though it was the height of summer and we were at sea level, there was still a crispness in the air that hinted snow not far away. We could have taken the ferry all the way around to Geiranger town itself, butContinue reading “Norway Day 3 – Geiranger Fjord”

Norway Day 2 – Romsdalseggen Ridge and the Trollstigen.

After an evening of wild camping we drove to Andalsnes to be begin our day hike up Romsdalseggen ridge. Unfortunately as we were getting ready to set off the weather came in and it chucked it down with rain! After the rain passed we looked up at the ridge and saw it covered in lowContinue reading “Norway Day 2 – Romsdalseggen Ridge and the Trollstigen.”

Norway – Day 1 – Molde and the Trollkirka

I had planned to go to Norway in June, but unfortunately my flights were cancelled due to Covid-19. When the quarantine restrictions were lifted I found flights from Manchester (UK) to Oslo Torp airport for £50 return, so I thought, sod it and booked them! Luckily my brother and his girlfriend were already in NorwayContinue reading “Norway – Day 1 – Molde and the Trollkirka”

Tiger Spotting in Ranthambore National Park, India

On our adventure around Rajasthan with G Adventures, we took a trip to Ranthambore National Park to go wildlife spotting. We spent all morning and afternoon out in an open top truck trying to spot wildlife, but mainly, wild tigers! I had seen tigers before in zoos and safari parks, but never in the wild.Continue reading “Tiger Spotting in Ranthambore National Park, India”
